1. Why do I need a Jodi-Vac?
The accumulation of Debris, which includes ear oil, ear eax, skin, moisture, dirt …, will cause the malfunction of your hearing aids. The debris may block the hole of your hearing microphone to reduce the amplification. It makes your hearing aids dead. However, you can prevent it by regular cleaning. The typical way to clean your hearing aid is using the pick and brush. Unfortunately, it does not help much. This method would push the debris closer to the microphone and receiver ports. A more effective way is using a vacuum cleaner which can directly absorb the wax.
2. Does Jodi-Vac clean RIC aids?
Absolutely Yes. In order to do so, you need a Pink needle (you can buy it from the official Jodi-Vac website). Needles with different colors are for different types of hearing aids.
|Color||Type of hearing aid|
|Black||BTE (for molds)|
|Blue||Open Ear (for thin tube)|
|Pink||ITE, ITC, CIC & RIC|
3. How often should I use the Jodi-Vac to clean my hearing aids?
Every day! Since you cannot see the debris which is so tiny that you need a microscope, you have to clean frequently to ensure all the debris is removed.
